Adalberto Polenghi is an Assistant Professor in the Manufacturing Group at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He earned his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the same University with a dissertation focused on improving maintenance practice through ontological models for advanced information management and integration. He is actively involved in international and national research projects, as well as industrial collaborations, in various sectors, like manufacturing, railway and utilities. He teaches and manages undergraduate and graduate courses at Politecnico di Milano, specializing in the design and management of production systems. He is part of the Core Faculty of the POLIMI GSOM (Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management), for which he leads and teaches various courses on maintenance and Industrial Asset Management. Additionally, he is part of the IFAC TC5.1 (Manufacturing Plant Control) AMEST WG (Advanced Maintenance Engineering, Services and Technologies Working Group) and a member of the UNI/CT 153 – Industrial Automation Committee (Italian Standards Body).
